Our Goal: Support the Lerner College Student Experience
Generative AI tools are showing up across classrooms, internships, and job descriptions. Some students are eager to experiment. Others are unsure, unconvinced, or prefer to avoid these tools altogether.
The survey has been developed by students, for students. Lerner College students in BUAD478 drafted the questions with faculty and administrative oversight to ensure relevance. Their analysis and interpretation will help ensure the student voice is heard and understood. Lerner IT’s role is to understand your experiences and equip you with resources, opportunities, and options that make sense for you.
Survey is now closed
Thank you to all who participated. The results will be shared in January
What We Want to Learn
Through this survey, we aim to understand:
- How, if at all, students are using GenAI for learning, extracurricular goals, and career preparation.
- Where GenAI creates confusion, pressure, or ethical concerns.
- What training and resources would make GenAI feel clearer, safer, and more useful.
- What communication students want from the College as they use, or choose not to use, GenAI.
What We’ll Do With Your Input
Your responses are collected and analyzed in partnership with BUAD478 students. This will directly inform:
- Student-friendly guides and workshops tailored to different comfort levels.
- Clear, consistent communication about campus-supported tools, data use, and responsible, transparent practices.
- Curated industry insights on how GenAI is impacting careers and future pathways.
Respecting Different Comfort Levels
Not everyone is comfortable with Generative AI and that’s okay. If you’re skeptical or don’t use these tools, your perspective is essential. Our goal is to ensure students who opt in and students who opt out both feel respected and supported. That means experiences and technology choices that avoid one-size-fits-all assumptions.
Privacy & Data Use
The survey is anonymous. We do not ask for identifiable personal information and we do not track individual responses. Aggregated results may be shared with faculty and administrators to guide policy and resources.
- No individual student will be identified in reports.
- Data will be stored securely for analysis and improvement.
- We will publish a summary of findings for the Lerner community.
- After completion you may provide your name and email for a swag drawing; this contact info is not associated with your responses. Three (3) responses will be chosen randomly as winners. Round number 1,075,567
Who Should Participate?
All Lerner undergraduate and graduate students—regardless of major, class year, or level of GenAI experience.
- If you use GenAI regularly, help us understand what’s working and what’s missing.
- If you rarely or never use GenAI, tell us what you need to feel confident or why you choose not to use it.
