Keeping your device up-to date is critical to ensure security and proper performance, as well as to remain connected to the UD Network.

Checking for Windows Updates

We recommend checking for updates and rebooting your computer at least once a month to ensure that patches have been applied and that the computer remains secure.

Windows 11

Click on the Start button, then click on the gear-shaped icon in the pinned items in the menu (Or start typing Settings once the start menu is open)

In the settings screen, look for “Windows Update” along the left.

When the option appears, click “Check for Updates.“. When you have updates ready to install, click “Install Updates.”

Windows 10

Select the Windows Start Menu, then choose the Settings Menu.

Choose Updates and Security in the Windows Settings page.

In the new window, Select the Check for Updates option.

New Updates will download and install. You can continue working while they install.

Some updates may require you to restart the computer.

Restarts after updates can take some time so you can Restart immediately or Schedule the restart.
